2017 Young Women in Harmony Festival Show
Join us for the 3rd Annual Young Women In Harmony Festival for South West Ohio –an exciting musical event for Young Women singers up to the age of 26. The Festival will be on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Princeton High School Performing Arts Center in Sharonville, Ohio and is a unique opportunity for young women to learn the art of singing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.

The Festival will include classes, rehearsals, and coaching on vocal production and stage performance skills. It will culminate in the YWIH Festival Show in the auditorium on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. The show, which is open to the public with no admission charge, will star the Festival participants and features award-winning barbershop singers from the Cincinnati community.

This year’s Young Women In Harmony Director will be Ali Hauger, Lead singer from GQ (Girls Quartet) Ali, has an impressive barbershop rap sheet. She has been singing with the Dundalk Chorus of SAI Region 19 since 2005, with a total of eleven years as a Sweet Adeline. Her quartet, Whole Lotta Harmony, was named 2008 Rising Star Champions. They also went on to win the Region 19 competition in 2011. Besides singing Lead in GQ (Girls Quartet), Ali continues to serve as an associate director, board member, co-choreographer, lead section leader, membership chair, and music team member for the Dundalk Chorus.

Teaching Quartet will be “Sing-A-Ma-Jigs” Quartet a 3-time Region 17 champion and the 2015 3rd Place International finalists—not too bad for 24-, 21-, 20-, and 17-year-old ladies! They all are Greater Cincinnati Harmony Festival veterans, where their love of barbershop was encouraged to flourish.

Cincinnati Sound Chorus is comprised of 50 singers from ages 16-80 who come from a wide range of backgrounds and musical experiences -all connected by a love of singing barbershop harmony. The group is led by Master Director Lynn Hartmuth and is the proud 2016 Fifth Place Medalist in Harmony Heartland Region 4.

“OMEA Preview concert”
The Xavier University Men’s Chorus has been invited to perform for the Ohio Music Educations Association’s 2017 annual conference in Cleveland. Come hear the XU men give a preview of this performance featuring music by Tim Takach, Eric Barnum, Robert Elmore, Andrea Ramsey, Felix Mendelssohn, Howard Helvey, David Conte, Geoges Bizet, and Dan Forrest. The theme of the concert centers around male relationships, including fathers and sons, common causes, loss, and fraternity/brotherhood. Free admission.
